Radio advertising to earn $450 m in India by 2012
Mumbai: With new frequency modulation stations mushrooming by the twelve in India, a survey states radiocommunication advertisement industry will gross Rs 1800 crore ($450 million) by 2012 from the present Rs 620 crore ($155 million).
Radio advertisement was a mere Rs 500 crore industry in 2006, said the joint study by the Federation of North American Indian William Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Republic Of India (Ficci) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) released on Tuesday.
"Approximately 60 per cent of the gross of the radiocommunication advertisement industry come ups from the private frequency modulation broadcasters and the balance from the state broadcaster All Republic Of India Radio (AIR)," said the study released at the Ficci-Frames forum.
"In footing of share of advertisement pie, it is projected that the Indian radiocommunication advertisement industry will be able to increase its share from 3.2 per cent in 2007 to 4 per cent in the adjacent five years," the study said.
The yearly planetary forum looks at the concern facets of the amusement and mass media industry.
Pitted as one of the Asia's greatest forums on the amusement industry, about 2,000 Indian and 500 foreign delegates are here to discourse the growing and sustainability of the sector by addressing the challenges facing it.
